Main Idea or Research Questions:
Previous Egyptian studies on psychiatric phenomenology have shown a prevalence of culturally determined symptomatology, where religion and prevailing traditions seemed to color not only the clinical picture of the condition, but also patients' attitudes about their disorder. This study reviews the literature to draw a comparison between the most prevalent symptoms of Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (OCD) in Egypt and other countries and to check the effect of culture and religion on this condition.
