WEBINAR | The Plight of Syrian Refugees: Persons with Disabilities
As part of the international campaign and activities taking place this Refugee Week 2020, the Global Health Institute at the American University of Beirut has launched its campaign ‘Magnifying Vulnerabilities’ to shed light on the vulnerable subpopulations within the Syrian refugee community in Lebanon: women, children and adolescents, persons living with disabilities and unregistered refugees.
Persons living with Disabilities are among the refugee community’s most vulnerable groups, and continue to face social and structural discrimination, restricted access to services and increased protection risks. The upcoming webinar ‘The Plight of Syrian Refugees: Persons with Disabilities’ will discuss their standing within the refugee community and the barriers they face in accessing humanitarian assistance.
